Mitch Wade is one of four men who conspired to bribe former congressman Duke Cunningham, according to the guilty pleas of both Wade and Cunningham. On February 24, 2006, Wade pleaded guilty to bribery, tax evasion, and illegally funneling almost $80,000 in campaign contributions through his employees and their spouses. Then-congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham recently resigned after pleading guilty to charges of tax evasion and conspiracy to commit bribery. He will be sentenced on March 3, 2006. His alleged co-conspirators, who gave Cunningham more than $2.4 million in return for many millions more in government contracts, include Mitch Wade and Brent Wilkes.

In addition to bribing Cunningham, Wade pleaded guilty to making illegal camapign contributions to two members of Congress: Rep. Virgil Goode (VA) and Rep. Katherine Harris (FL), both of whom earmarked or attempted to direct federal funds to Wade's company, MZM Inc. See more on Katherine Harris' connections to Wade here.

Below is a list of the candidates and committees who received campaign contributions from Wade, his employees, and his many companies since 1991. Some have already returned these funds or donated them to a charity.

We'll update the list as we dig up more contributions and as we find out which of these people and committees are going to disgorge any money they received.
